Vet Sedation App is a practical and simple calculator useful for managing sedation/analgesia on stable dogs and cats in everyday clinical situations such as radiography, orthopedic exams, minor wound cleaning, ear exams/cleaning, eye exams/minor procedures, blood draw on hard-to-handle animals, foxtail probing, etc..This calculator can be a valuable tool for veterinarians and veterinary technicians working in the very busy and stressful field of small animal general and critical care practice, or shelter settings. The App was designed to provide quick and reliable calculations for either single-drug or combination-of-drugs sedation protocol by using preprogrammed lists of generic drugs, their concentrations, recommended dosage range, and routes. The list contains the following drugs and combinations: Acepromazine, Buprenorphine, Butorphanol, Dexmedetomidine, Hydromorphone, Methadone, Midazolam, Morphine, Oxymorphon, Dexmedetomidine/Opioid, Acepromazine/Opioid, Midazolam/Opioid. At the same time, the App also provides freedom of choice by offering the manual entry of the medications, concentrations and dosages not available on the present drug/concentrations/dosages list. Vet sedation App is conveniently divided into Dog and Cat separate calculators. The simple design helps not to get lost and easily distinguish between both of them. The calculator has very unique and practical features, and is very simple in use. It will let you: - Create and save the log for the new patient, - Review and update your patient s calculations later if needed, - Keep all your patients data, - Search your patient by name, - Automatically convert pounds to kilograms for correct calculations, - Send text message with the results and updates to the co-worker if needed, - Review some general info comments for drugs and their combinations, - Choose either single-drug or combination-of-drugs sedation protocol, - Choose drugs by generic name from the available list, - Choose concentration from the available list, - Choose dosage from the list with recommended dosage range corresponding with either single-drug or combination sedation protocol, - Choose administration route from the available list of recommended routes depending on the chosen drug and a dosage, - Automatically detect available reversal and calculate it, - Use the manual entry for entering the medications, concentrations, dosages, and routes not available on the App s list. This app was created with the hope to provide practical, quick and reliable help to veterinary professionals in fast-paced environments where there is often no time for manual calculations and searching through multiple books or more complex apps.
